Bambujaya Bilingual School

Community is incredibly important here at Bambujaya. Families are encouraged to join us for learning experiences in and outside of the classroom, and beyond the school day. Our families want to know what their children are learning, so they can come and join us for sessions throughout the year. They are invited to family workshops where we discuss how children learn best and how we can work together to support them. We aim to keep our families as up to date with learning at Bambujaya as possible.

Don’t forget to check our calendar and newsfeed on our social media homepage for our latest upcoming community events.

Get Involved

Bambujaya families are vital to our ongoing success as a Waldorf-inspired school and thriving community here in Siem Reap. By lending a hand to the school, you not only share in your child’s educational experiences, you also have a direct impact on the quality of the community that nurtures and enriches all of our children. Naturally, children want to participate (highly encouraged!) and there are many opportunities for involvement, as a family and together with classmates, bonding through acts of service. As the saying goes, “many hands make light work.”

The work of our Bambujaya community is organized into three committees; there is a volunteer opportunity to suit everyone’s talents.

Hands Committee

The Hands Committee contributes physical support to our school, from labour and handwork to gardening and site beautification. Imagine gardening together with friends while children play on our beautiful campus!

Hearts Committee

The Hearts Committee nourishes the community with food, socials, community-building events, and support while nurturing a culture in which all feel welcome and appreciated. Members of the Hearts Committee love to bring people together and provide hospitality.

Heads Committee

The Heads Committee creates opportunities for families to learn more about our school, Waldorf-inspired education, and child-rearing strategies. Help promote Bambujaya through positive reviews on social media and online school directories. Join our Bambujaya team at open houses and local community events.

Here are a few of the regular activities organized by our Bambujaya community:

  • Coffee & Crafts
  • Farmers’ Market
  • Single Use Plastic-Free Campus Initiative

These are just some of the ways to get involved and support Bambujaya. Each individual class will have opportunities to support the learning team and class activities. Whether you join us for a field trip, keep score at a sports event, go grocery shopping for a class camping trip or bring freshly baked bread to the class, we hope you find many meaningful ways to be involved at Bambujaya!
